The major cause of this war was of refusal of greased Cartidges by Sepoys because the cartidges were made up of pig and cow fat and order was that sepoys should open it with mouth, in which cow was unacceptable for Hindus sepoys and pig was unacceptable for Muslim sepoys .The greased cartidges were not only the reason but there were also many reasons like Doctorine of lapes and many more.

The war was failed due to lack of leadership ,unity and dishonesty among people because some people remained loyal to British and some were un loyal who participated In a war, moreover there was not leadership, nor there was a single leader to motivate everyone and everyone who participated in war does participate for their own benefit only.

After war Indian blamed Muslims for this revolt and for these British they burnt Muslims alive and hanged them on rope and showed very much cruelty towards them . The economical, political and social condition of Muslims were very low and the lands were grabbed from Muslims there was not representation of Muslims in council and Muslims were given low post jobs like sweeper and etc.
